E-Portfolio for uni

In my latest brief, I looked at the idiom of “Getting up on the wrong side of the bed”. I decided to focus my advertising campaign on  exploring the theme of insomnia. There were two final outcomes which incorporated mixed media and textiles. I have also included images of development work from this project along with final pieces.

The piece below is part of my personal portfolio, i enjoy working with mixed media, and this is a combination of biro, acrylic and stitch work.

The next work is from the brief “Desperately seeking to travel the world on a rollercoaster”. It consists of a design sheet and a photograph of an illustration based installation.

The textile piece below is my response to the brief "mundane objects". I experimented with print, layering of fabrics/felts and machine stitch work.

Examples of observational drawings which includes “Mr.Thrifty” an observational drawing of a skeleton and "Naked John" which is a measured drawing of the human form.

Below is a window mount of a traditional acid etch printing and two still life pencil drawings.

This image was one of two preliminary drawings for the project "projected space". From these drawings I produced a series of 3D models which I then projected images of the room onto them and took photographs of the projections.

I consider myself to be a very outgoing and a energetic person. When I’m not working on my design projects, I enjoy keeping fit, socialising with friends and visiting interesting places to gather inspiration.

Through my work I wish to push back the boundaries between graphic design and other design disciplines and that is why I think I would be successful on this course. I now feel ready to study at MMU as it would offer me a creative and busy environment which I believe would enable me to develop my ideas and experience to a high level.
